*bringing awareness to all our inner dog circles Enjoying the Outdoors Safely: Tips for Walking Your Dog in Warm Weather
As the temperatures rise and the sun shines brighter, many of us are eager to get outside and enjoy the warmth. It's also a perfect time to take our furry friends for a walk. However, it's essential to remember that warm weather poses some risks to dogs. Here are some tips to ensure your dog stays safe and comfortable while walking outside in the heat. 1. Time Your Walks Wisely Avoid walking your dog during the hottest part of the day, typically between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Instead, opt for early morning or late evening walks when the temperatures are cooler. Asphalt and concrete can get very hot and can burn your dog's paws, so check the ground temperature before heading out. 2. Stay Hydrated Bring plenty of water for both you and your dog. Dehydration can occur quickly in warm weather, so offer your dog water frequently during your walk. Consider bringing a portable water bowl or a collapsible water bottle for convenience. 3. Provide Shade and Rest Breaks If you're taking a long walk, look for shaded areas where your dog can rest and cool down. Carry a travel mat or towel for your dog to lie on. Take frequent breaks, especially if your dog shows signs of overheating such as excessive panting or lethargy. 4. Watch for Signs of Overheating Know the signs of overheating in dogs, which include excessive panting, drooling, rapid heartbeat, and vomiting. If you notice any of these signs, stop the walk immediately, move your dog to a cool area, and offer water. If symptoms persist, seek veterinary attention. 5. Consider Your Dog's Breed and Coat Some dog breeds are more susceptible to heat-related illnesses, especially those with thick coats or short noses (brachycephalic breeds). Take extra precautions with these dogs, such as keeping walks short and ensuring they have access to shade and water. 6. Use Sun Protection Just like humans, dogs can get sunburned, especially those with short or light-colored fur. Consider applying pet-safe sunscreen to your dog's exposed areas, such as the nose, ears, and belly, before going outside. 7. Be Mindful of Hot Surfaces As mentioned earlier, asphalt and concrete can get very hot in the sun and can burn your dog's paws. Try to walk on grass or shaded paths whenever possible, or use dog booties to protect their paws. Conclusion With these tips in mind, you and your furry friend can enjoy safe and pleasant walks in the warm weather. By being mindful of the risks and taking appropriate precautions, you can ensure that your dog stays healthy and happy all summer long.

*bringing awareness to all our inner dog circlesThe Dangers of Leaving Dogs in Cars Unattended: A Vital Reminder for Pet Owners
As the weather warms up, it's crucial to remember the dangers of leaving dogs in cars unattended. While it may seem harmless to run a quick errand with your furry friend waiting in the car, even a few minutes can lead to serious health risks for your pet. Heatstroke: A Silent Threat One of the primary concerns is heatstroke. Unlike humans, dogs can't regulate their body temperature as effectively, especially in hot and humid conditions. The temperature inside a car can soar to dangerous levels within minutes, even with the windows cracked open. This can quickly lead to heatstroke, which is not only distressing but can also be fatal if not treated promptly. The Risks of Overheating When a dog's body temperature rises to dangerous levels, it can cause a range of symptoms, including excessive panting, drooling, rapid heartbeat, and even collapse. In severe cases, it can lead to organ failure and death. Older dogs, puppies, and those with certain health conditions are particularly vulnerable. Avoiding Tragic Consequences To prevent these tragic consequences, it's essential to take precautions. Never leave your dog in a parked car, even for a short period. If you must travel with your pet, plan your trips carefully. Choose cooler times of the day, park in shaded areas, and consider using a sunshade for added protection. Always ensure your dog has access to fresh water and never leave them in a car without adequate ventilation. Recognizing the Signs of Heatstroke It's also crucial to recognize the signs of heatstroke and act quickly if you suspect your dog is suffering. Look out for excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, and unsteadiness. If you notice any of these symptoms, move your dog to a cooler area immediately, offer them water, and seek veterinary attention. Conclusion Leaving dogs in cars unattended, especially in warm weather, poses significant risks to their health and well-being. By being mindful of the dangers and taking appropriate precautions, we can ensure that our beloved pets stay safe and healthy all year round. *bringing awareness to all our inner dog circlesIntroduction:

You can protect your pets by taking these steps to reduce the risk of them being hurt, poisoned, or lost.
*bringing awareness to all our inner dog circles Just a short getaway-I smelled smoke before pulling into the campgrounds and it contributed to shortening the trip, among other conditions. End of season, right?
I missed the open campfire-the heart of camping-maybe next year. As summer wraps up and we welcome fall. *bringing awareness to all our inner dog circles It's been a busy month- I was fearful I wouldn't be able to get this post up before the end of the month. However, being an entrepreneur my hours are 24/7 it would seem. :)
It's all good-you can tell how happy the dogs are every adventure was worth it. In fact I had to delete over 1,000 pics to free up space on my phone to take more pics for next month. :) *bringing awareness to all our inner dog circles Updating the grooming room is now underway. I do what I can-in my spare time. A fresh coat of paint is exactly what was needed. So many of the dogs I see now are seniors . Struggling with being able to complete grooms from beginning to end. I have seen many dogs pass away in the last few years. It's very sad seeing so many slip away, when they are such great companions right up until their end of life. This is Snoop's after pic. I was unable to get his before pic, as he was highly stressed upon arrival and went directly into the bath. Sparkie was the opposite, I got his his before pic taken and he was stressed, when he returned to the grooming table after his cut and bath. All I can do is keep them comfortable and modify their grooms whenever possible. Whether it's to shorten their time with me-reduce the procedures they encounter during a groom or cutout the precut, like I suggest. Sometimes, less is more. Happy hounds return to the duck pond. Oh happy day-see you next month.
*bringing awareness to all our inner dog circles I am beginning to transform the grooming room space. It's time for a makeover. Paint is one of the easiest ways to spruce up any room. Then add some plants, a few other creature comforts and its now a welcoming space for both 4 legs and two. :) Stay tuned for the after pics to be uploaded in the coming weeks. Cheers, Lori *bringing awareness to all our inner dog circles Little dog leashed walks have begun. Limited spaces. Please call to book a space now for your lildog, so they can get out and socialize on the next outdoor adventure available.
*bringing awareness to all our inner dog circles. I had a call come in the other day, requesting if I would offer a mobile service since this customer was at work and our hours conflict.
All my equipment can easily adapt to a mobile service. FYI, I can offer mobile grooming for small and medium dogs, as well. Please call to find out more information. *bringing awareness to all our inner dog circles The adventures have begun. With snowmageddon behind us, all paws are running on the trails once again. Please feel free to email, text or call for more information about signing your pooch up for the next date available on an outing today.
*bringing awareness into all our inner dog circles December has been the most difficult month by far. I was told in September by a friend the Farmer's Almanac declared winter would rear its ugly head in November.
When they mentioned it to me, I sure didn't see snowmageddon in that forecast. It wore me out with the first snow fall. To just try and go with it and accept this is the way it is all going to unfold, wasn't good enough. Since the arctic front arrived with it. After an extended summer without any rain, going from one extreme to another without reprieve-has just left me exhausted and joyless. I had been looking forward to time off over the holidays, but with all the cancellations, missed outings, & working on my days off. My holiday was spent in the driveway shoveling snow at the worst in minus 16 cold with a windchill of -22, instead of writing Christmas cards, gift wrapping and making plans to be with loved ones to visit and share a meal together. I know I am not suppose to complain-I am to be grateful. So many lost their power, were in the cold and for some lost their lives during this wicked storm that blasted through Canada and the USA less than 72 hours ago. I found myself sad, broken hearted, & tearing up hearing the news over the loss of life. How could anyone be prepared for what we just went thru. I have been winterizing my shack for months trying to beat the cold. Some of the things I did, helped. My bill came in FOR Christmas and it revealed my consumption is 25% lower this time over last year. So, my hard work paid off. Only the best thing to do would be to move into better accommodations. Which is just out of reach at the moment. I cancelled hikes when the extreme temperatures arrived. Here's why. Even though our pets need exercise. To be outside on the worst day was too cold for their paws. Unless they are Husky, Samoyed, Bernese Mountain Dog, Alaskan Malamute you know, true cold weather dogs. I wasn't risking injury to the pack. During extreme temperatures hot/cold. Adventures are reduced and only bathroom breaks are suggested until the heat or cold return to normal seasonal temperatures. Regular seasonal temperatures are back and hikes will resume-but I still want to touch base on being prepared. Not just as a dog walker, but for anyone travelling during such extreme temperatures. We absolutely can carry emergency kits in our cars. To give us a better chance of surviving the weather in the event something happens. A breakdown kit can include blanket/sleeping bag, water, flashlight, batteries, first aid kit, emergency rations or granola bars, dog treats for pets, hot warmers, extra hats, gloves, scarfs, these can be tucked away in seat pockets, glove box, consoles, trunks, under the seats, in a bin that can be removed when the risk is over. This is a pretty basic list of supplies, as well, true planning to get a head of the weather event or wait for it to pass, rather than traveling while it strikes. As much as I was saddened to not see my family during the holiday-I said in Sept I wouldn't be travelling, nor did I want anyone travelling to see me. My next thoughts are seeing loved ones before winter and in the spring from now on, as the winters here are becoming more extreme. As for those who insist on braving the elements. My prayer for you is God sends His angels to go before you and make your paths straight with safe passage today and in 2023. Happy New Year everyone, Praying it gets better for all, in the coming days. *bringing awareness to all our inner dog circles So, I got an email at the beginning of the month from Weebly-informing making tracks dog hiking they merged with Square. This is the way of their future, not mine. I am uncertain now how long this site will remain active. I will begin to build a new website on another platform where I am not forced to comply for a service I didn't ask for, don't want and have no use for-just to go along with the A.I. and system that is being set up all around us, at the moment. The globalists managed to accomplish 10 years of advancements to the NWO during the convid plandemic lockdowns while most were in the dark about what was really happening. Because they want it that way. I am not going digital, when my site is for informational purposes only. I provide my contact info here and share a blog post. There is no commerce happening online. I don't charge enough for them to find another way to try take my hard earned cash away from me each month, going forward. I will continue to share what I can, however I had some log in issues today and couldn't even log in on my usual browser. This is my backup browser. So I am not sure if they're having tech difficulties or if its a sign of not complying. Anyway-all of that to say. I will try to post my new website info asap. Although, things may actually be delayed until the new year as things are winding down now as 2022 comes to a close.
With that said-Merry Christmakah since both holidays overlap this season. Thank you for being apart of 2022. Look forward to seeing you in 2023. *bringing awareness to all our inner dog circlesI took a walk with my pooch the other day where the cougar attack happened only to see everything has been taped off? As far as I know, Conservation did not do this. All it has done is raise more questions.
Why is it sectioned off now? It wasn't done at the time, because I returned to the scene a few times. Did something else happen there? I didn't have my camera with me-so I didn't take any pics. The trees have been taped off with pink tape at both entrances/exits where the sighting happened. My reason for going for a walk was to allow healing-to see a delayed response by possible municipality officials has hindered that goal. As usual they are only there to interfere with life on every level. Standing on some b.s. narrative they expect everyone to swallow without ever questioning anything at all. In the name of 'planning purposes' or some made up thing like that. They run interference just like the cat-with the goals of payments, fees , licenses, permissions, red tape and more bureaucratic nonsense. It would seem the only way to finish healing is to abandon the site and area all together. Which brings me to the edge of sadness and is now good bye to end this experience. This wasn't how I wanted to put closure on the month of April. However, the forces at work here are beyond words. I just am unable to articulate what it is I feel about my months gone by away from this area. Somethings are not meant to be. Clearly, that will be my take away from here for whatever reason, at this time. Sometimes, its best to move on- Until next time, Take care, Lori *bringing awareness to all our inner dog circles I am closed until further notice. I will try to blog a monthly article as time permits. Until then-take care and stay cool!
