Bringing awareness into all our inner dog circles..... I wanted to take a moment and share that I hope you and yours are well going thru the life altering experience that came in the name of CoVid19.
From the last blog to today-everything changed. I am still swept up by the changes this new way of life I began living just a short time ago, nothing remains the same except for my love of grooming, love of family & fur-(friends). I had just launched pet sitting/boarding from home while transitioning to work from home when all of this hit. SO, one of the options that became available to society was to work from home. That's all I needed to know to keep digging and learn what was now expected of me to keep you, me, our dogs and society as a whole, 'safe' during this crisis. There is an article linked below where the Health Minister has made several recommendations that I am following. It goes without saying if I have symptoms there will be no contact and appointments cancelled. I ask the same in return. Its easier to reschedule-than run the risk of infection. As long as both parties are healthy, grooming can remain operational. What I have implemented is the following. I meet you with your pooch outside. We practice social distancing and do a leash hand off on the driveway-while I finish pulling together a gated side entrance where your dog will be secured using two gates in the long term. This is basically going to become a drop/off pick up service. For anyone with mobility issues or health issues I am happy to provide a pick up and drop off service so you don't have to travel. This is all a work in progress. I thank you for your patience while we all work together to find our new normal. Grooms are going well working from home. After each groom, I clean plus disinfect then sanitize all the equipment, table, tub, towels, face cloths and rooms etc. Appointments are booked further apart so there is no cross over with people or pets to support social distancing. I am happy with the procedures implemented to keep us safe as we go thru this together. Also, I wanted to share that most of the dogs that were attending to Hounds Hangout are adjusting well. Very little stress is experienced now. While rest of the hounds that have dropped by so far, were unaffected in anyway whatsoever.... Being at home is a very relaxed environment that we all benefit from. All the external stressors are greatly reduced. The pooches no longer hear the big heater or several large dogs barking as their humans come and go. We all know dogs bark-but some of the barking dogs made the little dogs quite nervous at times. So-all that stress has now been removed. They are more calm versus anxious. Better able to participate in the grooming process and work thru any anxiety they may have completing each procedure during a bath and tidy or full groom. All that I can say about this situation, is I believed working from home was the answer before this world wide event happened-maybe I was a head of flattening the curve intuitively. Hmmmm, let me paws for a moment and think about it? I can only hope and pray if you have been affected by the times we're all facing that you will find your new normal asap. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of assistance in any way-I am more than happy to help. Ph # 604-720-2394. I have not been able to implement a new procedure for doggie daycare, boarding or dog sitting as of yet. Most reservations were cancelled until we are clear to travel again-perhaps its best to suspend this service-but if there is an emergency I am more than willing to provide care for a family pet-no dog would be refused or turned away unless it falls under designated dangerous legislation. One last update-is Google My Business has a photo section on my web page where I am uploading my before/after gallery now. I was doing it here-but it became more efficient to use the google search engine. Please find the link below. Until next month-stay Pawsative! Warm Regards, Lori
